NIW.STARTUPS PROGRAM – Call for Startups
The Ministry of Industry, Trade & Cooperatives has initiated the ‘NIW.Startups Program’ under the Nairobi Innovation Week (NIW) to identify promising startups from all counties in Kenya, in order to strengthen, nurture and facilitate their scale up.
The purpose of NIW.Startups is to prepare home grown localized innovative and scalable startups to be investor-ready by giving them access to seed funding or growth phase financing options. The program will be implemented in partnership with key stakeholders in the entrepreneurship ecosystem.
The overall objective of the upcoming NIW 2017 is to strengthen the innovation ecosystem, and therefore the NIW.Startups Program seeks to create a common platform to address the funding challenges of startups.
Startups are invited to apply and should have a unique, innovative and validated idea. They should be less than 5 years old and should have mobilized internal resources and met regulatory requirements.
