New Guidelines for Weighing Goods At Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) Weighbridges | 2014

    • Transit cargo originating from Kenya through Malaba and Busia heading West will only be weighed at Busitema weighbridge
    • Transit cargo originating from Kenya through Malaba and Busia heading North will only be weighed at Mbale weighbridge
    • Transit cargo originating from Tanzania heading North will only be weighed at Lukaya weighbridge and cargo heading West will only be weighed at Mbara weighbridge
    • Transit cargo originating from Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo(DRC) heading East will only be weighed at either Mbarara or Mubende weighbridges depending on the route taken

  • Transit cargo originating from South Sudan and North eastern DRC heading South will only be weighed at Luwero weighbridge and cargo heading East will only be weighed at Lira Mobile weighbridge
  • Transit cargo originating from within Uganda will only be weighed at the first weighbridge encountered after customs clearance

    my opoion as chairman of uganda national transporter alliance
    under the customs and Tariffs Act, there is need to ensure that overloaded vehicles are not sealed and allowed to proceed,when.carrying goods under customs control.

    Under the Act establishing the Uganda Revenue Authority,the Authority
    is mandated to collect all the fines that are imposed under the.T&RSA
    that are”not the result of judicial proceedings”. Since axle load fines
    are as a result of judicial proceedings, is.the URA acting correctly in
    collecting of the fines in respect of axle load limit
